Why the range? The price varies based on the container's condition (e.g., "Food Grade" quality vs. standard cargo worthy) and current market availability. This size is our most affordable option for general storage.

2. What is the price of a 40ft container, and why is it more expensive?

A 40ft High Cube container typically costs between Kshs 350,000 and Kshs 420,000.

Value: While the price is higher than a 20ft unit, you get more than double the volume (approx. 76 cubic meters vs. 33 cubic meters), making it the most cost-effective option if you have large storage needs or are planning a spacious container home.

3. What is the difference between a "Standard" 40ft container and a "High Cube" container?

The difference is height.

Standard 40ft (GP): Is 8ft 6in (2.6m) high.
40ft High Cube (HC): Is 9ft 6in (2.9m) high.

Availability: Shipping lines do not standardly manufacture 10ft containers for general cargo. We create them by professionally cutting a standard 20ft container in half and welding a new rear wall/door.
Price: Estimated Kshs 100,000 – 140,000. Note that the price is not exactly "half" of a 20ft unit because of the labor involved in the modification.

7. What site preparation do I need to do before delivery?

You do not need a complex concrete slab, but the ground must be level and firm.

Best Practice: We recommend placing the container on concrete blocks, paving slabs, or railroad ties at the four corners.
Why: This raises the steel floor off the damp soil to prevent rust and ensures the container sits flat so the doors open and close smoothly (if the container is twisted on uneven ground, the doors will jam).

Construction: The walls are made of heavy-gauge Corten steel which is very difficult to cut without loud industrial power tools.
Doors: The original cargo doors are heavy steel with robust locking bars. For extra security, we can weld a "Lock Box" (a steel cowl) over the padlock area, making it impossible to cut the padlock with bolt cutters.

10. Can I come and choose the specific container I want?

Yes, absolutely. We encourage you to visit our yard to inspect the containers in person.

Transparency: You can check the floors, doors, and walls yourself. If you cannot visit, we are happy to send detailed photos or videos of the exact unit you will be purchasing so there are no surprises on delivery.

11. Are the containers waterproof?

Yes. We sell units guaranteed to be "Wind and Water Tight" (WWT).

Inspection: Before sale, we check that door seals are intact and that there are no holes in the roof or walls. This ensures your goods stay dry, even in heavy Kenyan rain.
